The state Cabinet has approved the proposal for transfer of 10 acres of government land in Shaikpet village in Ranga Reddy district to Deccan Infrastructure and Land Holdings Limited (DILL) for construction of an integrated township.
DILL, a subsidiary of Andhra Pradesh Housing Board, has sought an alternative site in lieu of the 10 acres allotted to it by the government at Bachupally on the city outskirts.
Information and public relations minister, J Geeta Reddy, said that the state Cabinet had accepted DILL's request and decided to allot an equal extent of land at Shaikpet at a rate of Rs 11.61 crore an acre.
Briefing mediapersons on Saturday, Reddy said that it had also been decided to allot 19.31 acres of land to Hetero Drugs Limited and five acres to My Cinex Pharma at a rate of Rs 18 lakh an acre for development of a greenbelt in Gaddapotharam and Bontupalli villages in Medak district. The two villages are home to many pharmaceutical units.
Terming it as “good news” to employees, the minister said that the government had decided to allot 150 acres of land for Secretariat Employees Housing Society in Ranga Reddy district at a concessional rate of Rs 2 lakh per acre.
Other decisions of the Cabinet include establishment of mobile Lok Adalats initially in three districts of Kadapa, Ranga Reddy and Visakhapatnam as a pilot project. These Lok Adalats will visit villages and settle both pending and pre-litigation cases. The main idea of the project, Reddy said, was to provide justice at the doorstep of the citizens and that too without expenditure and loss of time.
To seek Rs 1,357 crore
The state government has also decided to seek Rs 1,357.42 crore as financial assistance from the National Calamity Contingency Fund for undertaking relief operations and restoration of infrastructure damaged in the recent 'Laila' cyclonic storm.
