The union cabinet is expected to give post-facto approval to a part of the first phase of the Jaipur Metro Line in a meeting likely to be held tomorrow. The first phase of Jaipur Metro project has two sub-segments. The first segment runs from Mansarovar to Chandpole Bazar, work on which is complete and commercial runs are likely to start from December. The stretch is around 9.5 kilometers long.
While, while the second segment will connect Chandpole Bazar to Bari Chaupar and will be completely underground. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone of the underground segment recently.
The project will be jointly funded by Centre and States government. According to officials the total cost of first phase of Jaipur Metro project which includes both the segments is around Rs 9,732 crore.
