Cabinet to discuss old vehicle phaseout

 The eight-year-old vehicles are to be phased out by December 31 and the 15-year old ones with immediate effect.

 The government is also looking at the possibility of requesting the Mumbai High Court to set up a five-member Bench to look into its judgement on October 17 asking the owners of these vehicles to go for CNG/LPG conversion.

 The government is also looking at exempting these vehicles from sales tax and octroi.

 The trade delegation met the chief minister at his residence on Monday.

 The delegation comprised the leaders of 14 APMC markets, representatives of transporters, exporters, importers and the Carting Agents
