Canada and India are natural business partners and share more complementarities and less competition, said Kevin Lynch, cabinet secretary to the Government of Canada.

Urging entrepreneurs to invest in Canada, Lynch said they wanted to develop business contacts and long term, mutually beneficial businesses with India. “India is on the top of Canada’s business strategy as bilateral trade between the two has increased from US $1.4 billion in 2003- 04 to US $3.2 billion in 2007- 08,” he said.

Lynch was here to address a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

He said they were aiming to develop partnerships and share advanced technologies in hydroelectricity, natural gas, waste treatment, bio and life sciences and technical textiles.
