CUT & THRUST: Excise duty brought down from 32% to 24%
The government today proposed to bring down the excise duty on passenger cars from the existing 32 per cent to 24 per cent, a move which is likely to help reduce the end consumer price of cars from between 5.5 per cent to 7 per cent
