Case against MPCC president for violating poll code

A case has been registered against Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, Suresh Pachouri at Kotwali for alleged violation of the model code of conduct for elections.      

BJP candidate from Hoshangabad constituency, Rampal Singh's Media in-charge, Brajgopal Loya and Samajwadi Party Agent, Anil Soni complained to Election Commission that during his visit to the constituency on April 21, Pachouri violated the model code of conduct for election by talking to reporters at Krishi Upaj Mandi, official sources said.      

On the complaint, the District Returning Officer (DRO), Nishant Barbade had ordered an inquiry to be conducted by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sapna Shivhare into the matter, they said.      

After receiving the probe report, the DRO directed to register a case against Pachouri, sources added.
