The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is expected to book two separate cases, one against Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with the alleged amassment of illegal wealth and the other against the Emaar group for playing fraud on the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), in a day or two.

The investigative agency on Thursday received the copies of the orders delivered in these cases on Wednesday by the high court division bench and is working on modalities with regard to filing FIRs, according to sources. While the cases are centered around Jagan and Emaar group, a whole lot of senior bureaucrats, ministers and certain firms that have invested in Jagan's companies are also expected to face the investigation.

The court, in particular, observed the involvement of certain known and unknown public servants in the Emaar-APIIC joint venture township project while referring to the preliminary inquiry report given by the CBI. Names of several ministers and politicians have also figured on the list of the people who bought villa plots in the project at just Rs 5,000 per square yard.

Meanwhile, Emaar in a statement said it would fully cooperate with the CBI while reiterating its stand that the company was willing to settle all the disputes amicable with the APIIC.
