CBI raids DVC officials' residences

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at the residences of seven officers of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for their alleged involvement in siphoning off Rs 1 crore for undertaking afforestation in command area of DVC in Jharkhand.

The CBI team raided the residences of DVC’s former deputy directors Sanjay Kumar and Jaideep Biswas in Hazaribag. Besides, CBI raiding team searched the houses of DVC’s assistant director Brajmohan Jha, zonal officer Alok Bandopadhya and forest officers Pratap Rana, Deepankar Haldar and Sameer Khutia in Dhanbad, Maithon and Giridh respectively.

The CBI team seized over two dozens passbooks and other documents relating to the forestry scam.
