Centre contests sale of UP sugar mills

ivatisation of the cooperative sugar mills recently, a HC division bench comprising Justices Amitava Lala and Shishir Kumar listed the matter for the next hearing on March 26 and directed the parties to exchange their affidavit.  A total of 129 sugar mills are operating in the private, corporation and cooperative sector in UP currently. Besides, five new units in the private sector are likely to come up this year.
