Centre okays Rs 32 cr to upgrade Maharashtra highways

The Centre today approved Rs 32 crore plans to upgrade the dilapidated stretches of the national highways running through the state of Maharashtra.

According to an official release, Union Minister of Shipping, Road transport and Highways, T R Baalu has approved the plans for the road improvement works in the following stretches:

• Rs. 454.67 lakh has been approved for improvement of Pune-Nasik Road of NH-50. Pune-Nasik Road that passes through industrial and vegetable goods producing area. The road provides an important link to Shirdi, the pilgrimage centre.
• Rs. 511.77 lakh has been approved for NH-222 of Kalyan-Ahmednagar-Beed-Majalgaon-Parbhani-Nanded-Bhokar road.
• Rs. 991.40 lakh has been approved for Nagpur - Edlabad Section of NH-6.

 

• Rs. 498.89 lakh has been approved for Improvement Nagpur-Obedullaganj road of NH-69. This road is the important link joining Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and goes up to Bhopal.
