Out of the Rs 399.20 crore required for the long-term reconstruction plan, the Centre would give a grant of Rs 359.28 crore to the North Eastern state which on its would raise a loan component of Rs 39.92 crore.
This was decided at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi told reporters.
The net grant of additional Central assistance of Rs 359.28 crore would be released in two equal instalments.
"This decision will enable the state to undertake long-term reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure," Dasmunsi said.
