Consumer Education and Research Society (CERS), an Ahmedabad NGO, has petitioned the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) for establishing an accountability norm for power utilities such as Gujarat Electricity Board, Ahmedabad Electricity Company and Surat Electricity Company in view of poor power supply by these utilities.
CERS has cited various provisions of the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act 1998 in support of its plea for making these utilities accountable.
