The state government should immediately take initiatives to instil confidence in these companies, who have already signed MoU with the government a couple of years ago for setting up power plants, chamber secretary Suresh Agarwal said here.

The companies have been facing bottlenecks+ in their effort to move forward in their commitment to do business in the state, chambers sources said.

The state government should take necessary steps to allot coal blocks, water facilites and land to stop the companies from rethinking on their commitment and come forward to renew their commitments he said.

Reliance Energy, Tata Power, Adity Birla Company, JSW Energy of Mumbai, Electro Steel Casting and Emami Paper Mills of Kolkata, GMR Energy, Bangalore, Gupta Energy, Nagpur, GBK Industry, Secundarabad, Neelanchal Power, Hyderabad are some of the companies who had signed MoU with Jharkhand government setting up of power plants in the state.

The MoU period of most of these companies have since expired and the government should take immediate initiative to renew their MoU and prevent them to move away from the state, Agarwal said.
