Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy will evaluate the progress of Kochi metro and hold discussions regarding the development plans for Kochi City to be implemented along with the metro construction on October 31. This was scheduled earlier on October 26.
The meeting is expected to be attended by state ministers including Aryadan Muhammed, K Babu, Ibrahim Kunju and Manjalamkuzhi Ali. KV Thomas, Union minister of State for Food and Public distribution, will be a special invitee.
Chandy will address some long pending issues like the development of Thammanam - Pulleppady road, widening of Vyttila-Petta road and shifting of KWA pipelines at SA Road. Some other major points of discussion would be reinforcement of water transportation in Kochi city under JNNURM and formation of a SPV for JNNURM funding for urban transport system in the Greater Kochi area.
The meeting may also discuss issues related to the reconstruction of South Railway Over Bridge, a KMRL release said.
