Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CHB) will develop a new residential colony in 180 acres of land in the new capital city, branded as Naya Raipur.
"The board has started the process and will soon launch the residential project in the new capital city" the newly elected Chairman of CHB Subhash Rao told Business Standard. The official formalities to launch the project would be completed at the earliest, he added.
According to Rao, the state government had allotted 330 acres of land to the Housing Board in 2008 in Naya Raipur ,that is coming up in 8000 hectares of land about 20 km from the old one.
"The housing board took up a residential project in 150 acres of land while remaining 180 acres were in its possession" Rao said, adding that the board proposed to start the new residential project in the remaining area.
The CHB Chairman said that people were taking keen interest to own a house in the Naya Raipur.

The state government had planned the design of the new capital on the lines of Kuala Lumpur's new capital complex at Putrajaya. The independent houses have been booked while only 40 per cent flats are lying vacant, Rao said.
Besides the new capital, the CHB will eye on the rural areas. "Our focus will be on the villagers to construct pakka houses for them in the rural areas" Rao said.
Though the board has not finalized the project, it plans to build pakka house on the land provided by the villager at a very nominal cost.
