Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh had advocated for flexing the norms in the Central and State schemes to ensure that the benefits of fiscal management and integrated development reached to the person standing in the last row of the society.
“The Planning Commission should not allocate fund on the basis of population only and it should be in accordance with the requirement and situation of the respective states,” Singh said while addressing a state-level discussion on Approach for the 12th Five Year Plan held here on Wednesday.
Singh said Chhattisgarh, Orissa and Jharkhand should be given more priority than the developed states. “The concept of integrated development cannot be confined to the papers,” he said, adding that one has to see how much allocation has been made in the budget on different heads and areas.
