Chhattisgarh will cater the power requirement of its parent state Madhya Pradesh from November this year if the deal takes the final shape.
Reeling under severe power crises, Madhya Pradesh has decided to purchase power from other states and independent power producers (IPPs). The Madhya Pradesh government had floated a tender in April this year inviting proposals for purchasing 500-Mw power to meet the crises in the state. “Chhattisgarh is among the bidders quoting lowest rate in the tender and is hopeful to get the contract awarded for supplying power to Madhya Pradesh,” Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Subodh Kumar Singh told Business Standard.
