In the second arrest of a civil liberties leader in ten days, the Chhattisgarh Police on Thursday took into custody the state president of the People's Union for Civil Liberties, Rajendra Sail. |
"Sail was arrested in connection with a contempt case in which he had been sentenced to a jail term," said Raipur Superintendent of Police Lal Umed Singh. |
Sail is the PUCL's second top leader, after General Secretary Vinayak Sen, to be arrested by the Raman Singh government. |
