"In all, 53.110 hectare of revenue land had been encroached by the industries for setting up plant," Chhattisgarh's revenue minister Dayaldas Baghel said in the state legislative assembly on Friday. He was replying to a question raised by Hridayram Rathia.

The minister said the government was taking necessary action under the land revenue code to evict the encroachment and free the government land. The process was however underway, he added.

The Coal Benefication and Coal Washery Private Limited had encroached about 2.25 hectare of land; SKS Power about seven hectares and Monnet Ispat and Power Limited 0.041 hectare, the minister added.
