China has been conferred the status of 'partner country' in the India International Trade Fair (IITF), slated to open from November 24 this year at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. |
More than 200 Chinese companies, cutting across various sectors, are participating in the fair, organisers of IITF, said. |
"Even as Chinese companies have become a regular feature off late, this time they are coming in a big way. They have altogether booked 4,000 square foot area in the fair," Ranjan Chatterjee, executive director of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), informed. |
Apart from China, Brazil is also participating in the fair in a significant way. Brazilian participants have booked 1,600 square feet area in IIFT. The Latin American country has been conferred the status of 'focus country'. |
Agriculture and information technology have been chosen as the central themes of the fair. Participation from Bangladesh, Syria, Pakistan, Thailand, Korea, Iran, Turkey and Tunisia was also confirmed. Majority of Indian states and Union territories would participate as well. |
The fair was expected to have approximately 7,000 exhibitors and over 32 lakh visitors. |
Apart from the theme, the fair would feature special display sections like Techmart, Buildtech, Saras, Indian Handicraft Show and Good Living. |
The display canvas at the fair will cover a wide range of products and services related to engineering, automobiles, electronics, drugs and pharmaceuticals, leather, textile, handicraft, jewellery, consumer goods. |
A series of seminars and workshops and conferences will also be organised during the fair. |
