Christie's auction at Calcutta Club

Global art auction house Christie's has chosen Kolkata for its auction in India.
 
Christie's will hold its auction at Calcutta Club, and proceeds will go to charity.
 
The auction would have paintings of 24 artists that include Jogen Chowdhury, Partha Pratim Deb, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Chhatrapati Dutta, among others.
 
The paintings will be auctioned for anything between Rs 1.65 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh.
 
The auction is scheduled for December 15.
 
Christie's offers over 600 sales annually in over 80 categories, including all areas of fine and decorative arts, jewellery, photographs, collectibles, wine, cars, among others.
 
Prices range from $200 to over $80 million.
 
Christie's has 85 offices in 43 countries and 14 salerooms around the world including London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Geneva, Milan, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Dubai and Hong Kong.
