Cidco Picks Wipro For Navi Mumbai It Plan

The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (Cidco) has roped in technology major Wipro in its attempt to transform Navi Mumbai into a preferred destination for IT companies. Cidco was set up by the Maharashtra government to plan and develop Navi Mumbai in a systematic manner.

As a first step, Wipro will be implementing a SAP-based real estate module along with other modules of SAP for Cidco. Wipro would also implement a Geographical Information System (GIS) module which would help Cidco and its customers to view online data while working on housing projects. Wipro will also implement the customer management, data warehousing and HR modules of SAP for Cidco as part of the project.

 

Though the scope of work and the value of the contract is expected to be large, Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro, refused to divulge the value of the contract bagged by the company from Cidco citing confidentiality agreements.
