The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chhattisgarh State Council has recommended Input tax rebate on coal under Chhattisgarh Value Added Tax (VAT) Act.
The CII has also recommended Entry Tax exemption benefit to sponge iron for the purchase of iron ore, coal & dolomite in Chhattisgarh besides Entry Tax exemption to steel tube, pipe manufacturing industries, billet and ingot manufacturers for the procurement of raw materials from other states.
The CII finance panel members submitted the pre-budget memorandum to the state minister for commercial tax, Amar Agrawal at a meeting here, CII state head Prateek Pandey said. The meeting was organised by the commercial tax department of the state government. In its pre-budget memorandum 2010-2011, CII stressed on major suggestions like adequate fund allotment for basic infrastructure development in industrial areas, approach roads, and fire stations in industrial areas.
The memorandum stressed the development of public transport system, funds for the infrastructure development of ITIs and adequate fund allotment for the health infrastructure in the tribal areas of the state. Exemption from VAT to export oriented units, and simplification of e-return filing procedure were highlighted in the memorandum. Pandey said the minister had ensured that the memorandum should be examined and taken into consideration before preparing the State Budget.
