CII-ER to host manufacturing summit

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will be hosting two major events--IT East and Manufacturing East""on September 23 and 24, in Kolkata.
 
The IT East seminar of CII, since its inception in 2002, had focused on ITeS. The IT East 2005 conference was the knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) event of the year in the country.
 
The conference would aim not only to address strategic issues linked with the emergence of KPOs but also focus on the core strengths required to attract and incubate KPOs in the region, global perspectives and demands from KPOs and niche sectors of growth.
 
Some of the speakers at the event were Pradip Baijal, chairman Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), Marc-Alexander Winter, director-business consulting-Asia Pacific SAP, Balu Doraiswamy, managing director, Hewlett-Packard India.
 
Some of the speakers at the Manufacturing East seminar were V Govindrajan, member secretary, National Manufacturing Competitiveness Council, R Seshasayee, managing director, Ashok Leyland, Sunil Kant Munjal, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO), Hero Corporate Service, Jamshyd N Godrej, chairman and managing director, Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company, B Muthuraman, managing director, Tata Steel, among others.
