The Indian Japan Initiative (IJI), a non-profit Kirloskar foundation, organised the "Succeeding in Japan" business workshop today in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). |
Geetanjali Kirloskar, chairperson IJI said, while efforts were being made by industry bodies, government and diplomatic channels to address these issues, it was critically important to provide an enabling environment for the people of the two countries to interact through exchange of ideas, sharing of cultural diversity and business learnings to create higher levels of comfort. |
The speakers addressing the gathering included Indian and Japanese business leaders who have fostered partnerships between the two countries like Vikram Kirloskar from Kirloskar Systems, Surinder Kapur of Sono Koyo Steering, S Mori of Trans Systems among others. |
The workshop was designed to offer principles, processes and tools of partnering Japanese companies in manufacturing for the Japanese and global markets. |
The main topics of discussion were Japanese production principles and processes, the cultural context to adapting technology, processes and practices and the key tenets for successful partnerships. |
