CII is gearing up to put up a major tourism conference-cum B2B showcase here from December 2 to 4 to project India's potential in the tourism sector with China as partner country and Andhra Pradesh as partner state. |
Delegations from more than 7 countries are participating in the event to meet their Indian counterparts to explore business opportunities and promote regional & bilateral tourism. Andhra Pradesh is expected to see a host of high profile speakers, delegates, visitors and industry members from India & abroad participating in the Event. |
Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the '4th International Conference-cum-Showcase : India " Tourism & Heritage " Challenge 21.' Jagmohan, the union minister of tourism, and Gu Zhaoxi, the vice-president of China National Tourism Administration, would be the guests of honour. |
The high profile conference-cum-showcase is being organised under the guidance and leadership of Maharaja Gaj Singh, the Maharaja of Jodhpur and chairman of CII national committee on Tourism, and would be attended by who-is-who from tourism world. This is the first time the state government is hosting the prestigious CII meet on tourism. |
Of late the state government has been taking an array of measures and hosting many prestigious events to boost tourism in the state. The positive impacts of these measures are visible in the surge of international tourist arrivals, crossing 1 lakh per year and domestic tourism touching 50 lakh per annum. |
Zooming hotel occupancy in the recent times is also a testimony of the success of these measures. The conference assumes greater significance especially against the backdrop of recent surge in the inbound tourism in India, which has clocked a 15 per cent jump this year. |
A complete session has been devoted to discuss future prospects of Andhra Pradesh as an emerging destination, according to a CII press release issued here. |
