City Pulse to host series of cultural & literary programmes in A'bad

City Pulse Institute of Film and Television (CPIFT) will invite eminent personalities from different walks of art and literature, to host a year-round series of cultural, art and literary programmes, starting today. The programmes will present the city with a variety of artistic experiences from Film and Drama appreciation, to Urdu Poetry and Indian classical music, sessions by eminent film and theatre personalities among others. The programmes will be held every weekend night at 2100 hrs on an on-going basis for the entire year. The entry for all the programs will be free.

The events calendar will kick off on 19 December with an evocative recitation of Shayari by renowned Urdu shayar, Sheen Kaff Nizam – a Mirza Galib Award winner. Programmes on film appreciation, including an introduction of Academy award winning filmmaker Orson Welles' work (26 Dec), Realism in Indian cinema (16 Jan) and  an introduction to Korean cinema (23 Jan) are sure to interest film enthusiasts. Also a part of the calendar will be literary programmes like 'Introduction of a book by Soumya Joshi', famed Writer & Director of Gujarati Theatre on 2 Jan followed by a lecture on the Art of Animation by Prof Shekar Mukherjee, from NID, Ahmedabad- 9 January.
 
City Pulse is a grove with a lively interface between the people and the performers, the achievers, the cine stars and their creators, through its activities like face-to-face programmes and various music concerts, workshops, seminars, music recitals, dance performances kavi sammelans, fashion shows, art exhibitions, film festivals and other regional cultural programmes, thus creating a dynamic, interactive space.

A  place for celebrations where some of the biggest names in the world of arts, performing arts and cinema have come and interacted with the people of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

City Pulse, a leading multiplex, was a concept conceived by the design mentor Ashok Purohit, who is also a well known architect and design consultant of the country.
