City to host world congress of oils crushers

More than 250 oversees delegates are expected to participate in the world congress of oils crushers, to be held here from January 17 to 20.
 
The '74th IASC World Congress 2005' is organised by the London-based International Association Of Seed Crushers (IASC) and is hosted jointly by the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) and the Central Organisation For Oil Industry and Trade (COOIT).
 
Delegates from the US, Argentina, Brazil, Europe, China, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia will participate in the world congress, a statement from SEA said.
 
India is the world's fourth largest edible oil economy with a domestic turnover of over Rs 70,000 crore. The Indian export and import trade in oilseeds, oils and related products worth about Rs 15,000 crore per annum, D P Khandelia, president, SEA said.
