Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today blamed Centre for the rising prices of essential commodities, including onion and said he would convene a meeting for discussing steps to check the hike.
“Certain policy decisions concerning import and export have led to price rise,” he told reporters here. Yeddyurappa said he would convene a meeting of officials in a couple of days to discuss steps to check the price rise.
The Chief Minister declined to react to Governor H R Bhardwaj’s statement that he was dissatisfied with his reply to his two letters over illegal mining and land scams.
Bhardwaj had yesterday said he was not happy with the response furnished to him by Yeddyurappa, to his two letters on land scams and illegal mining and had declared he might contemplate writing another letter. He had said it was “only a two line cryptic reply, instead of telling what action has been initiated.” After being reminded by Bhardwaj, Yeddyurappa had replied to his letters, in which the Governor had raised corruption charges against the Chief Minister and illegal mining, apparently targeting ministers and mining magnates Janardhana Reddy, Karunakara Reddy and their close associate B Sreeramulu.
