Chief minister K Rosaiah on Thursday directed the energy department officials to completely lift the power cut for industries, particularly the small and medium enterprises, in view of the improved power supply situation and reduction in demand for power in the agricultural sector due to the conclusion of the rabi season.
According to an official release, power utilities have assured the chief minister that power cuts and load sheddings would be completely lifted for all types of industries except the continuous process industries such as cement, steel, ferro alloys, carbides and chemicals. All other industries such as spinning mills, cold storage units and other EHT (extra high tension), HT & LT industries would be completely spared from power cuts with immediate effect.
In the case of continuous process industries, Rosaiah directed the officials to review the situation periodically and extend to them uninterrupted quality power supply as soon as the situation becomes favourable. He also asked them to go for advance planning of power management during the coming months so that the power supply position to the industrial sector could be ensured.
