Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's meeting with industrialists, held today, has left some feathers ruffled. Though the industrialists are thankful to Badal for giving them a personal hearing, the presence of hordes of party leaders and workers of both Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and BJP has not gone well with the traders.

"We were not given much time to talk to the CM and the interference of political leaders and other people was even more irksome," said a trader.

V K Goyal, CEO, Vardhman Group, said, "The time was very less yet the effort is commendable. We were trying to impress upon the CM that certain issues like no discharge of waste in the Buddha Nullah by the dyeing units will only lead to closure of these units. Instead the government should take up the problems of the industry in a more proactive role."

Adding to this, another well-known industrialist Dinesh Lakra said, "Today's meeting was like a trailer before the film. The time was too short. All we could do was to hand over our memorandum to the CM. The CM has assured us to resolve the matter soon.'' Industrialists like M M Vyas were, however, angry for involvement of politicians in the meeting.
