CM to visit proposed irrigation sites

Chief Minister YS Rajaseskhara Reddy will undertake visits to the sites of the proposed irrigation projects to ensure speedier execution of works, in keeping with the commitment made to the people of the state.
 
During his visit, the chief minister would review the progress of land acquisition and clear bottlenecks, if any, and thus facilitate faster completion of the process, the key element for implementation of any major irrigation project, an official press release said here today.
 
Through his visits,Reddy also intends to know whether the works are progressing as per the reports submitted by the project officials to chief minister's office besides interacting with engineers, pubic representatives and media on the issues involved with the rehabilitation, design and execution of these projects it said.
 
The chief minister's decision came in the wake of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's advice to the chief minister to visit Delhi for an exclusive discussion on the irrigation projects, the resource management planned by the state government and the support required from the Centre.
 
The chief minister requested financial support from the Government of India for the irrigation projects undertaken by his government.
