Coal output up 1 mn tonne in Nov

Coal production touched 31.01 million tonne (MT) in November as against 30.05 MT in November 2003.

The 477 working mines of Coal India produced 28.09 MT and 67 mines of Singareni Collieries Company produced 2.92 MT, an official release said today.

"The total offtake of coal during November was 29.38 MT as against 28.63 MT last year. Coal offtake from Coal India increased to 26.37 MT from 25.70 MT, and the offtake of Singareni increased marginally to 3.01 MT from last year's level of 2.93 MT," the release said.
