Coal scam: Former CEC, ex-Navy chief move SC

A number of prominent citizens on Thursday filed a public interest suit in the Supreme Court, asking it to quash the allocation of all coal blocks to private companies from 1993 to February 2 this year. The petitioners included former Cabinet secretary T S R Subramanian, former chief election commissioner N Gopalaswami, former chiefs of naval staff L Ramdas and R H Tahiliani, and two former secretaries in the central government.
