The wholesale debt market segment at the National Stock Exchange saw active trading yesterday, reporting 137 trades and a volume of Rs 878.71 crore. The day saw prices of long-term securities moving up by nearly 10 paise, while short- and medium-term papers was stable.

Security prices of long-term paper went up after the private placement of 12.60 per cent 2018 for Rs 4000 crore was announced.

The day saw three repo deals worth Rs 40 crore. Two 14-day repos were done for a rate of 8.75 per cent while a one-day repo was done for rate of 8.15 per cent.

 

The 11.99 per cent gilt maturing in 2009 saw 14 trades for Rs 70 crore. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 100.89 and closed at a high of Rs 100.98.

The 12.40 per cent government loan maturing in 2013 saw 14 trades for Rs 83 crore, at the weighted average yield of 12.81 per cent.

The paper was dealt for a low of Rs 101.31 and closed at Rs 101.36 after having touched a high of Rs 101.40.

The 12.32 per cent government loan maturing in 2011 was traded for Rs 80 crore at a weighted average yield of 11.99 per cent. ta name="description" content="FOREX REPORT">
