The Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR) will undertake collaborative farming in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Kanpur. The initiative is aimed at encouraging farmers to cultivate pulses apart from currently popular cereals to combat reducing acreage.
The institute will provide vital technologies, information, seeds, fertiliser and irrigation facilities to the farmers willing to share their land resources with ICAR. The institute will also provide latest equipment to conserve water resources to the farmers.
