The Union budget 2011-12 is a growth oriented exercise with focus on the social sector. I am grateful for the jubilee package of Rs 200 crore to Goa for the maintenance of its greenery and beaches. Once the money arrives, we will decide how best to use it.
We had sent various proposals of around Rs 1,400 crore, out of which the central government decided to pick out the one dealing with preserving the natural resources of the state, including sea beaches and forest cover.
I am in favour of the restructured slab and it will make a great difference to the common man. The proposed food bill too is in favour of the weaker sections of society who have already suffered due to inflation.
