Trade ministers from around 50 countries will meet in Geneva from July, 21 to 26, to finalise a deal on agriculture and market Access.
Speaking to the media here, Commerce Minister Kamal Nath today said, "India will not consider any of the flexiblilites in the proposals, unless it gets a good package in the services sector. It is for out interests. We want binding commitments on services sector in the Doha Round of talks."
Nath also said that India is willing to consider proposals on sectoral negotiations (sectors which will see zero duty, if the Doha Round is successfully concluded), only after consulting the industry.
"We will have to study the proposals first and discuss them with the industry. India has interests in the gems and jewellery sector on the issue," added Nath.
He also emphasised that India will not sign the agreement, if its sensitivities on agriculture sector as well as non agricultural market access are not addressed.
Nath will be meeting trade ministers of China, Brazil as well as trade commissioners of United States and European Union on 19th.
He would then return to India for a confidence vote in parliament on July 22 and rejoin the meeting after the vote.
