Conference on internal audit on Feb 10

The 30th All India Conference on Internal Audit will be held from February 10-11, in Chennai.
 
The theme of the conference, organised by the Madras chapter of the Indian Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), will be the current requirement in the business environment. The conference is named as 'Beyond Assurance - Enhancing Enterprise Value', a release said.
 
P C Anand, organising committee member, IIA, said, "With the regulatory measures taken by the various countries around the world and the revision of Clause 49 of Sebi guidelines in India, corporate management expects internal auditors to assist them in revitalising controls and ensuring transparency in operations."
 
The keynote speakers at the conference include R Seshasayee, managing director of Ashok Leyland and Lalita Gupte, joint managing director of ICICI bank.
 
The conference also has technical sessions that would cover various business segments including not-for-profit organisations such as Information Technology (IT), IT Enabled Services (ITES), insurance, banks, logistics and FMCG companies. The panelists include P B Ramanujam, chairman, Audit Committee ITC and G K Raman, director of Sundaram Finance, the release added.
