Congress leaders in Karnataka today attacked JD(S) for accusing it of non-cooperation when they raised certain issues, as also colluding with the ruling BJP.

“The culture of hobnobbing with the ruling party is best known to JD(S) supremo H D Devegowda. Should we state what Gowda did when the late R Gundurao and late Devaraj Urs were chief ministers?” Opposition Congress leader in the assembly Siddaramaiah said, reacting to former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy’s remarks yesterday, charging Congress with non-cooperation.

Siddaramaiah, addressing a joint press meet with KPCC president R V Deshpande, demanded to know who was responsible for BJP coming to power. “Kumaraswamy, to fulfill his ambition of becoming chief minister, embraced the BJP”, he alleged.

The JD(S)’s attempts to raise corruption issues pertaining to purchase of imported coal and high security number plates for vehicles had only backfired on it, he said.

Charging Kumaraswamy and chief minister B S Yeddyurappa with being responsible for rampant corruption in Karnataka, he said, “Congress needs no lesson from these people on morality issues. We have been fighting the communal BJP nationwide.”

He said the Congress would lay a ‘siege’ to Vidhana Soudha on September 26 to ‘expose’ the misdeeds and failures of the BJP government.
