Alleging booth capturing by CPI-M in Keshpur under Ghatal Lok Sabha constituency, Congress and Trinamool Congress today demanded repolling in the assembly segment.

"CPI-M goons captured 98 per cent of polling booths at Keshpur," WBPCC vice-president Manas Bhunia alleged. Demanding repolling in the entire Keshpur assembly segment in West Midnapore district, he alleged that paramilitary forces were kept idle, and despite complaints neither the district magistrate nor the observers took action.

Nure Alam Chowdhury of Congress is contesting against Gurudas Dasgupta of CPI from Ghatal constituency. Bhunia also alleged that the ruling party activists captured most booths at Garbeta under Jhargram Lok Sabha seat also in West Midnapore district.

The district magistrate and observers took no action, he charged. Trinamool Congress sources said the party also has lodged complaint with state Chief Electoral Officer Debasish Sen and demanded repolling in Keshpur.
