Congress MP Jaganmohan Reddy today was asked to "mend his ways", sources told Business Standard.
The son of former Andhra chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy arrived in the capital to seek appointments with the party top brass but could only meet Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel late in the evening.
Reddy created a fresh political storm in his home state with the decision to go ahead with his yatra in the Telangana region. Party sources said, he repeatedly tried to meet Sonia Gandhi, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and a few more leaders but could just managed to meet Patel who gave "him an earful".
Party insiders feel the refusals are a snub to the young leader after he defied the top leadership's order and went ahead with his yatra in the Telangana region.
Meanwhile, the young turk showed a brave face and challenged his political opponents to prove that his proposed yatra was political. He said, "I am ready to quit as Kadapa MP if it was proved that I have politicised the issue."
Reddy also said that he had full faith in party President Sonia Gandhi."I have sought appointments with the party high command to apprise them of what has happened. I will explain them that I have done nothing wrong," Reddy said.
