Congress candidate Mohammad Sharief Niaz has been declared elected from Bhaderwah assembly constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, where bye-election was held on April 23.

Niaz defeated his nearest rival Daleep Singh of BJP by a margin of 2,747 votes, according to returning officer of Bhaderwah assembly constituency M M Gupta.

The constituency was earlier represented by Niaz in 2002. However, he resigned and bye-polls were held on April 24, 2006 in which Azad got elected.
