Moving a step ahead towards its bid to isolate the Left and come close to the non-Left partners, Congress yesterday sharpened its attack on CPI(M) saying it had lost all balance.
The CPI(M) is so obsessed with anti-Congressism that it has lost all balance a Congress spokesman said yesterday. He said CPI(M) general secretary Harkishen Singh Surjeets statement that Congress was a party of self seekers, was an insult to lakhs of Congressmen who sacrificed to build the party.
The latest attack comes in the wake of the Congress highlighting what is known as the personal ledger account scam in Marxists ruled West Bengal and a demand that the CPI Home Minister Indrajit Gupta should dismiss the Shiv Sena-BJP government in Maharashtra. Gupta has already made a statement in the House that the situation in maharashtra does not call for dismissal of the government. The Congress spokesman said that the demand to dismiss the Maharashtra government was being taken up by party president Sitaram Kesri directly with Prime Minister I K Gujral.
