Pandemonium continued in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly (CLA) for the second consecutive day today as the members of the main Opposition Congress stalled the proceedings demanding resignation of Chief Minister Raman Singh for his alleged misrule.

"The law and situation in the state has deteriorated and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government cheated the farmers with false promises and supplied them sub-standard seeds, fertilizers," the Congress members said soon after the House assembled today.

This was the second consecutive day when Opposition members did not allow to transact the Question Hour. On Monday, the House was adjourned after the obituary references and did not take up any business for the day.

Speaker Dharamlal Kaushik appealed the Congress members to cooperate in transacting business.

As the chaos continued, he first adjourned the House for 15 minutes. When the House re-assembled, the Congress protest continued; forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House till 12 noon.

After the House re-assembled, the situation did not improve. "We would allow the House to transact business once Chief Minister Raman Singh submitted his resignation," senior Congress member Dharamjit Singh said.
