Opposition Congress in Karnataka will organise a “Raj Bhavan Chalo” here on February 12 to highlight what it termed as “mis-rule by BJP government”.
A delegation of Congress leaders headed by KPCC President R V Deshpande would call on Governor Rameshwar Thakur, submit a memorandum listing out the “failures” of the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa led government.
“The administration has totally collapsed. Police are demoralised”, Deshpande charged at a press conference here. He demanded that the government arrest Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik and ban all Sangh Parivar outfits such as the Bajrang Dal, VHP and Rastriya Hindu Sene, which he alleged have been vitiating law and order in the state.
Deshpande also urged the Centre to take up seriously the “deterioration” of law and order in the state and act in accordance with the Constitution. If the situation did not improve, the state unit Congress will not hesitate to press the Centre to invoke Article 356 of the Constitution against the BJP Government, he warned.
