Connect 2008 from today

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with the Tamil Nadu government, is organising Connect 2008, which begins here on September 12.

Based of the theme ‘Global Competitiveness and Equitable Growth: Driven by Innovation’, the two-day event will feature sessions on rural infrastructure, road map for building competency, capacity and capability and besides parallel sessions focusing on hardware, software, auto/design services and knowledge process outsourcing.

C Chandramouli, secretary, state information technology, said the ICT industry in Tamil Nadu was attracting huge investments. The built-up space created by the IT parks are being taken up by the industry even before completion of the projects.

 

The software companies are expanding their development base in the city and also in several tier-II and tier-III cities of the state such as Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore and Hosur.

He said the state has also increased its export of electronic hardware products steadily in the recent years.
