Construction fair to promote India as source for heavy machinery

CII's construction technology fair, Excon 2005, will showcase India as a source of international construction equipment and component majors. The conference, scheduled towards 2005-end in Bangalore, is expected to serve as a platform to promote India as a manufacturing hub and component and design outsourcing base for international firms.
 
This edition of the Construction Equipment and Construction Technology fair is slated to attract potential sourcers of equipment from the US, Germany, Japan, UK and Italy.
 
Besides firms seeking to outsource work, the fair has already had enquiries from prospective buyers from SAARC countries, West Asia, South East Asia and Maldives. Based on the increasing interests, Sarosh J Ghandy, chairman, Excon 2005 said about 250 exhibitors will display their wares across 60,000 sqm, a 100 per cent increase.
