Imagine a situation when employees of a government office are organising postage stamps out of their pockets for sending official letters. Or, a clerk of the office takes the pain of delivering a letter, essentially a task meant for the postal service or a peon.
Such apparently incredible incidents are taking place in consumer affairs and fair business practice, a state government-run department engaged in redressing consumer grievances. The reason: the employees, who were without work for six years for no fault of theirs, are now hungry for work.
An official of the department said they had experienced the pain of being workless for years.
