The government has decided to introduce the contributory pension scheme for employees joining service on or after April 1, 2002.
The decision of the government is a sequel to the extension given to the high powered committee on pension reforms to submit its report by March 31, 2002. The committee is expected to come out with a new pension scheme for government employees that will limit the government
